MY  NATIVITIES

Before I made miniatures and dollshouses I did a lot of origami ( Japanese paper folding art).
Using this technique I tried to fold as small as possible to made all kinds of dollshouse scenes.
 In 1991 I made my first two Nativity scenes in origami.

The same year I visited the Nativity exhibition in De Heilig Land Stichting in Nijmegen.
It was great!
I was astonished to see so many different Nativity Scenes from all over the world.
In the museum shop they sold Nativity scenes and I bought a few.

This was the begining of my collection.

1992

 

 I bought these white plastic figures at the dollshouse fair in Arnhem.

After I painted them I glued them back into the box they came in.
